Hello!
Well, I'm still working on joining the 21st century (with many thanks to Marf, my favorite computer whiz kid)! Since she is having to drag me, kicking and screaming, across the 20th century, it has been an exhausting, though enriching, trip. (Yes, P., I will be taking the computer survey...though I think the results are already apparent!)

My writer friends are all talking about the importance of having their own web page. I'm doing good to use word instead of a pencil for writing my stories. (I completely skipped using a pen...can't erase!)

But I digress ... I have created my map of states visited...can tell I'm a Southern gal! So far I've never been lucky enough to travel outside the USA.
I registered at Bloglines but the site was having problems (honest!) so I couldn't aggrevate ... er... aggregate my blog or RSS subscriptions. Will try again later, soon as I figure out what exactly all of that means!
I also visited Libraryelf and Librarything. Haven't cataloged any books yet but I will.
Checked out Firefox...looks like it lets you put things right out front on the menu bar instead of hiding them in favorites or wherever but otherwise not much different (maybe a little faster?).
Went to Wikipedia to find out what bookmarklets are. Now I need someone to explain all the jargon Wikipedia used to define bookmarklets! Speaking of learning a new language! P., does computer jargon count?
Visited Podscope. Sorry,don't know any other sites; at least not yet.
Set up personalized Google page.
So basicly, I need to go to such sites as MovieFlix, Blinx, and Flickr, iTunes or Kazaa. as well as download a file to a Mp3 player. Marf just brought me hers. Soon as I figure out where to plug it in...:)
So, maybe by Thanksgiving I'll be ready to start 2.1!

Yea! I'm now linked to Prudence's blog. So now ya'll can actually read my blogs. Oh, wait. Is that reallllly a good thing?

I finished reading Porgy. So now I'm ready to go to NY to see the opera! Prudence is making all the arrangements for us to go, right?!!:) Loved the book. though I'm now severly depressed. But it does remind us just why certain books become classics. Loved the descriptiveness of it. (Is that a word?) Great way to learn adjectives!

Started Fair Ladies today. Now I'm blind. Does anyone have a large print copy I can borrow? :)

I'm trying to do 2.0 and 2.1 at the same time. Much love and thanks to Marf who is patiently walking me thru it all. Unfortunately, she makes it impossible for me to use the age card as my excuse for being so behind the times. (We're the same age). Let's just say that I was born in the wrong century. Put me out in the wilderness with a cast iron skillet and some string and a safety pin for a hook and I'm right at home. I must admit that writing with a word processor is getting easier for me than my old standby the pencil, especially since it can spell-check. (I refuse to learn how to spell...it's against my religion:)

I did check out Facebook and my space. Doubt I'll ever use them, though. But then again!

I've gone to the Abbeville, Anderson, Spartanburg, Greenville library websites and a couple others I can't remember right now. More on that later.

I can't believe I'm going to try to learn a new language online. (I can't even speak "English". Actually, I think it's high time we stopped claiming to speak English anyway. When's the last time you put groceries in the "boot" of your car or rode in a "lorry"? We speak American! Let's call it that!)
